The fallout from the federal government shutdown, now in its 17th day, has come to the Supreme Court. Patricia McCabe, the head of the court’s Public Information Office, said in a statement released to reporters by email on Friday afternoon that the court “expects to run out of funding on October 18” and “if new appropriated funds do not become available” after that, “the Court will make changes in its operations to comply” with federal law. “As a result, the Supreme Court Building will be closed to the public until further notice. The Building will remain open for future business.…
The step and repeat was a colorful sight. Turner-Smith wore a bazooka bra-ed, bright orange jumpsuit with a swirling cobalt blue cloak fresh from the Jean Paul Gaultier spring 2026 runway. “If I’m introducing the queen, then I must dress in homage to the queen,” Turner-Smith said, referencing Grace Jones. “I am so excited!” Then Sabrina Elba appeared in a slinky black gown, so Turner-Smith broke off mid-sentence to squeal and exchange air kisses. Michael Fassbender made a quick moment for the photographers, sunglasses kept firmly on, while Julia Fox appeared like a vision, and posed in a bulbous, bridal…
Protein powders are an excellent choice for supporting muscle recovery or simply boosting your protein intake. While they can be useful for anyone, they’re especially helpful for people with higher protein needs, including athletes, bodybuilders, or people following a vegan or vegetarian diet. Registered dietitian Lauren Manaker, MS, RDN, LD, emphasizes the importance of finding a protein powder that fits your dietary preferences and lifestyle. You should also consider what works best for your body; for example, some people might find that soy—or dairy-based proteins can cause digestive issues…

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had trouble falling asleep. I’d often lay awake for two or three hours just waiting for sleep to come. Come morning I’d be exhausted, slugging through each hour, counting down the minutes until I could get back into bed. But of course, once bedtime came around, I’d feel stressed about not being able to fall asleep, and the viscous cycle would continue. About five years ago, I decided that this cycle had gone on long enough and it was time to get some help from a sleep aid.
The landscape of oral medication options for hair loss hasn’t changed very much over the past few decades. Oral finasteride (aka Propecia) was approved by the FDA for the treatment of hair loss in men in 1997, and doctors began prescribing oral minoxidil (which is approved to treat hypertension) off-label in the 2010s. And that’s pretty much it. But we might not be all that far away from one of the most significant developments in the hair-loss field in decades: a reimagining of oral minoxidil.Biopharmaceutical company Veradermics announced this week that it has secured financing for the phase three trials…

There’s lots of well-deserved chatter around the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show from Jasmine Tookes’ jaw-dropping show opener at nine months pregnant to Bella Hadid’s bombshell cherry red ensemble and refreshed blonde blowout—but can we create some commotion for VS Angel veteran Lily Aldridge’s angelic skin? While genetics surely play a role, who wouldn’t want to copy and paste her skincare routine in hopes of glowing as iconically as she? Carbohydrates are often seen as the enemy as brands and social media influencers seemingly push carb-free-everything. And, while cutting carbohydrates can be a sensible way to reduce excess energy intake, those who push their bodies hard must keep up with their carb intake, especially post workout, in order to replenish glycogen levels in a timely manner, explains a groundbreaking new study. While experts have long known that post-exercise carb digestion is necessary for replenishing glycogen in our bodies, the amount of carbs, and the time required for recovery, has been less understood. A new study, published in the National Library…
The Supreme Court announced on Friday afternoon that it will hear oral arguments on Dec. 8 in the battle over the president’s power to remove the heads of independent federal agencies created by Congress. The case, Trump v. Slaughter, is one of eight cases scheduled for oral argument during the court’s December argument calendar, which runs from Dec. 1-3 and again from Dec. 8-10. Other high-profile cases now slated for argument in December include National Republican Senatorial Committee v. Federal Election Commission and First Choice Women’s Resource Centers v. Platkin. The dispute over presidential power began in March, when Rebecca…
