Whenever I hear about a new launch from MUA extraordinaire Danessa Myricks, I know I can expect creativity and innovation, and the Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Stix are no exception. As a fan of the brand’s original Colorfix liquid pigments, I was excited to learn that the range was expanding to include magnetic duos in stick form for use on the eyes, lips, and cheeks. Next, it was time to find out if this versatile product was on pair with the impressive other products I’ve tried from the brand. Keep reading for my honest and full review, covering the finish, wear time, and more.
About My Skin: Acne-prone with oily eyelids and dry lips
When I do my makeup, I always prep my skin and make sure to address my specific needs. Since my eyelids tend to be oily, I usually apply a thin layer of Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion to help create soft, natural eye looks. When creating colorful or smokey eye looks, I like to use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Primer.
After years of dealing with acne, I have established a routine that keeps my sensitive skin happy while addressing my breakouts. Right now, I’m experiencing more breakouts on my cheeks than normal, so I’m keeping my makeup minimal until my skin calms down. I currently forgo foundation, use my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer on any dark spots, and wear the Saie Dew Blush liquid blush in Cutie.
My lips tend to be quite dry, so I always keep several lip balms on hand. I’m normally a matte lipstick fan, but I’ve been having a lot of fun exploring different finishes lately. One of my current go-to products is the About-Face Cherry Pick Lip Color Butter in Guava Crush. I was excited to see how the Danessa Myricks stick could add to this journey of mine and switch up some of my go-to looks.

The Product: Multi-Use Pigment Sticks
The Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Stix are multi-use pigment sticks that are safe to use on the eyes, lips, and cheeks. Coming in magnetic, customizable packaging, the sticks come with two coordinating colors, and you can mix and match them with other shades, as well. One side features a pearlescent, metallic finish and the other is a glittery, foil finish. Both sides have a refreshing, cooling sensation when applied, are easy to blend, and wear for hours.

How to Apply: Wherever desired on eyes, cheeks, and lips
Since the Colorfix Stix are multi-use, Danessa Myricks Beauty has helpful suggestions to get the best results when you wear them on your eyes, lips, or cheeks. The duos come with two different finishes, so the brand recommends swiping the metallics and tapping the foils onto the skin.
To get the best application on your eyes, tap or sweep the colors onto your eyelids, either layering the different colors and finishes or wearing one shade entirely by itself. When applying the product to your lips, simply swipe on your shade of choice. For the cheeks, try using the Colorfix Stix as highlighter by tapping the product onto your cheekbones.

The Wear Time: Looks great for hours, and even better with primer
When I first tried the Colorfix Stix, I applied the metallic and foil shades directly to my eyelids, getting a feel for how they blended together and wore throughout the day. Since the formula is 50% water, the sticks also are cooling and refreshing upon application, which was a pleasant surprise.
Similar to the original Colorfix liquid pigments, the Stix dry fast. I knew I needed to work with the product quickly before it set, because once it was dry, it would stay in place. After about five hours of wear, my application was still intact. The shades looked great, and I didn’t notice any smudging or cracking.

By the end of the night, I still liked the result, but I noticed that my application wasn’t as vibrant as it was when I initially applied it, which signaled to me that my oily eyelids impacted the overall look. This let me know I needed to use a primer on my eyelids the next time I used the product.
The next time I wore the Stix, I applied it to my eyelids, cheeks, and lips. Using my Urban Decay primer on my eyelids, my application remained vibrant all day without any dullness, separation, or smudging. When I applied the Stix to my cheeks, I gently swiped the color on and blended it in. The pigment lasted all day without the shade breaking down or requiring touch-ups. Lastly, applying the Stix to my lips was an easy experience that surprised me the most. After patting the foil texture into my lips, the shade blended with my lip color beautifully and lasted much longer than I was expecting. I was able to wear my lip combo for a couple of hours before needing to touch it up.
The Final Review: An instant must-have
Similar to every Danessa Myricks Beauty product I’ve tried, I enjoyed my experience with the Colorfix Stix. From the vibrant shades to the varied finishes, the Stix have become a new favorite of mine. The magnetic packaging makes it easy not only to mix and match shades, but to streamline my makeup bag; if I want only one shade, I don’t have to pack the entire duo.
I liked how easy the Colorfix Stix shades are to use both alone and with other products. Layering and blending well, the pigments are thin enough to work with other eyeshadows and sit on top of foundation or lipstick nicely without looking thick or grainy. The formula is fallout-free, so I could apply and reapply as much as I wanted without any product (even the foil textures) falling under my eyes or moving around on my cheeks.
The versatility makes this product even more impressive and speaks to the value. It retails for around $38, which I could easily spend for something that’s only for cheeks, lips, or eyes—but this stick does all three. While I hope to see a range of matte Colorfix Stix in the future, these pigments are a refreshingly innovative collection of textures and shades that can truly elevate any makeup look.
